Grab a 4th-gen Apple TV 4K for $99 at Walmart ahead of Prime Day

Not psyched on your TV's incompatibility with Peacock or HBO Max? Apple's streaming box has an answer.

Save $70: The Apple TV 4K (32GB, 4th gen) is on sale for $99 at Walmart as of June 21.

Fire TV gear is one of Amazon’s heavy hitters for Prime Day.

Walmart technically can’t compete directly. It simply doesn’t have a huge proprietary streaming platform like that. So it said fine — our version of a Prime Day streaming deal will be dropping the 32GB Apple TV 4K below $100.

This 4th gen model doesn’t have the nice, upgraded remote that Apple just released in April. But we can probably thank that new version for giving the go-ahead to such a juicy discount. Even the previous Apple TV 4K rarely sees discounts — the best deal we could find during Cyber Monday was a $50 Apple gift card tacked onto full price Apple TV 4Ks from Apple’s website itself.

Apple’s robust streaming box gathers all of your streaming apps (including Peacock, which still isn’t compatible with Fire TV) and puts them into a smooth A10X Fusion chip-powered user interface that actually makes sense to navigate. Apple people will appreciate the Siri integration that they’re used to on their iPhones. Paying $99 to have all of your streaming content upscaled to glorious 4K seems like a damn good deal, but Apple won’t force you to watch everything in HDR if it’s actually making things work. It’s also the rare streamer that provides consistent Dolby Atmos sound.

If you somehow get bored with the list of shows you’re rewatching, you can explore Apple Arcade: a fan favorite Apple TV app.
