SAVE $100: Walmart had the second-gen Google Pixel Buds on sale for just $79 as of June 21 — that’s 56% off their $179 MSRP.
Apple’s going to have to do something reckless to top this Prime Day deal on one of the AirPods closest rivals: As of June 21, Google’s second-gen Pixel Buds were on sale at Walmart for just $79 — that’s a whole 56% off their suggested retail price of $179 and their best-ever discount by far.
Come to think of it, this discount means the Pixel Buds have managed to beat the all-time-low price of the cheapest AirPods by a good $20. (We saw the $159 ones with the wired charging case hit $99 last Black Friday.) Your move, Tim Cook.

For the uninitiated, these bad boys were Google’s second attempt at a pair of intelligent wireless earbuds — and a highly successful one at that: They swiftly nabbed a Mashable’s Choice Award upon their release last spring. Tech reporter Alex Perry was a big fan of their “attractive, egg-shaped charging case” and their comfy, discreet fit: “There’s no awkward stem protruding from the ear, in other words,” he wrote in his review (which you can read here). Sound-wise, he found that their custom 12mm speakers were able to “deliver rich audio in accommodating environments” even without the help of noise cancellation technology — though that would be a welcome addition in future Pixel Bud iterations, Perry noted.
