Bluesky has become the home for users joining in the exodus of X, formerly known as Twitter, after Musk bought the platform and subsequently joined the Trump administration. Trending Topics is one of the features that made Twitter so useful for breaking news, finding community, and talking about things in real-time — like TV shows and sporting events.

In a post detailing just how Trending Topics will work, Bluesky wrote that it is the first version of this feature and it will be “iterating” with user feedback.

“You can disable it with the X button or in Settings,” the post reads, adding that any words you have muted will also be muted on Trending. It’s currently only available in English, but will likely roll out to other languages once the platform tests it more thoroughly.
