Apple's new iPad Pro packs its M1 chip and 5G connectivity

Forget the 2020 iPad Pro — Apple’s new 2021 iPad Pro models pack some serious upgrades.

The new iPad Pro includes Apple’s in-house M1 chip, which Apple says has a CPU that is 75 times more powerful than the first-generation iPad.

There’s also a new 2TB configuration, allowing you to keep up to 60,000 Pro RAW photos on the device.

The new iPad Pro now has a Thunderbolt port, too, in addition to a USB-C port. It allows you to connect to external displays like Apple’s Pro Display XDR. 

As with its 2020 iPhones, the iPad Pro also comes with 5G connectivity, with support for mmWave (the faster version of 5G). But that 5G connectivity will vary depending on your carrier. Read more…
