MacOS Ventura on Apple computers

At WWDC 2022, Apple unveiled its new MacOS, named Ventura.

In the grand tradition of naming its operating systems after cities in California, the world was introduced to a city perhaps best known for being in between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

The new features in Ventura are primarily focused on improving classic Apple products: Safari, Mail, and the desktop.

But the biggest announcement comes in the form of privacy improvements to Mail. Apple introduced a new feature called passkeys, which uses cryptographic technology and biometrics to protect your privacy. It works by using Touch ID to authenticate, and can’t be phished because it never leaves your device.

In Safari, new features include shared tab groups to collaborate with people in real time, and a feature called Stage Manager which allows users to group files and applications for projects.
