Apple Store is down in the U.S., but we don't know why

Apple store down

Apple‘s online store is currently down.

Typically, this happens ahead of product launches, but this time we’re not sure whether that’s the case.

The Apple Store is only down in the U.S. and available in other markets, which is odd for a product launch. However, a new Apple product should be launching, and Apple’s said it should be launching in July: The new, M2-equipped MacBook Air.

The only problem with that is that we’ve heard that the MacBook Air is likely to launch on July 15, with pre-orders starting on July 8. Perhaps Apple is preparing its store for the launch slightly ahead of schedule, or we’ll see the new MacBook Air earlier than expected.

As 9to5Mac.com notes, Apple’s online store went down a week before, and not immediately before, the pre-orders of the M1 iPad Pro started, which lines up with our expectations for the M2 MacBook Air launch. The site also notes that Apple often adds new products to its Store on Fridays.
