Apple Maps added COVID-19 testing sites last year. Now it’s adding vaccination sites.
Starting Tuesday, Apple users in the U.S. can search on Apple Maps for “COVID-19 vaccines.” Or they can ask Siri, “Where can I get a COVID-19 vaccination?” Both use data from VaccineFinder.
So far, more than 20,000 COVID-19 vaccination sites are listed on Maps. More will be added in the future. The listings include hours of vaccination sites, and websites to book an appointment or find out if you’re eligible for one of the three approved injections in the U.S.
Earlier this month, New York City’s MTA added a vaccination site locator on its online subway map. Clicking on a needle icon on the bottom right side of the page brings up all the vaccination sites throughout the five boroughs. Apple Maps similarly flags vaccination sites with a red asterisk.
