Colorized footage from 1933 shows the very last Tasmanian tiger in all its stripy glory

The 35mm negative of the tiger, called Benjamin, was scanned into 4K and colorized by experts in France.

They used rotoscoping as well as AI algorithms to make Benjamin true colors come to life. All in all the process took over 200 hours.
