An origami moon shelter is set to make space feel a little more like home

Danish architecture studio SAGA has one mission – making outer space a little cozier for future human inhabitants.

Their project LUNARK is a moon habitat whose design draws inspiration from origami. Starting from the size of a small car, the carbon fibre shell can unfold to 750 times its size. Inside, solar-powered circadian panels mimic the light cycles on Earth, aiming to improve astronauts’ sleep patterns and general well-being.
