The Rivian Adventure Network is designed to be for Rivian electric truck and SUV drivers what the Tesla Supercharger network is for Tesla drivers.
Announced on Thursday, the Rivian network is a new collection of fast charging stations for Rivian owners. A separate Rivian network of slower charging stations will be open to any EV driver.
Rivian, which hasn’t delivered its R1T truck or R1S SUV yet because of COVID-related delays, is promising more than 3,500 fast charger plugs at 600 sites across the U.S. and parts of Canada by the end of 2023.
That means drivers will be able to get 140 miles of range on the electric battery by plugging in for 20 minutes. The delayed $67,500 R1T is expected to launch this summer with about 300 miles on a single full charge. Read more…
