Windows 11 on laptop

Do you use Windows 11 and love generative AI? I have great news for you if that’s the case.

Microsoft announced a new Windows 11 update, out now, that adds its signature Bing AI search feature right to the Windows 11 taskbar. You can now ask Bing questions like “is it better to adopt or buy a dog?” (sidenote: Please consult a real human being about that) straight from the search box at the bottom of the Windows 11 home screen.

That is, if you’ve been accepted to the limited preview program Microsoft is running right now. You have to sign up for a waitlist to get in. Eventually, per Microsoft’s blog post, the feature will be available to every Windows 11 user at some point.

Just a few weeks after launching the AI feature, Microsoft has been hard at work putting it in every app it can. Mobile versions of Bing, for example, now allow for voice input for AI searches. You can even have a Skype chat with the Bing AI, in case that sounds like a fun thing to do.

Fans of generative AI have a lot to look forward to right now. Everyone else, well…you better get used to it.
