Apple's 12.9-inch iPad Pro is $200 off at Walmart

SAVE $200: Walmart has the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro (256GB) on sale for just $999 as of Oct. 20. That’s 17% off its $1,199 MSRP, which is its highest discount to date.

Walmart’s early Black Friday sale is coming in hot with a contender for the best tablet deal of 2021: As of Oct. 20, the 256GB configuration of Apple’s new 12.9-inch iPad Pro was on sale there for only $999 —that’s a solid $200 off its suggested retail price of $1,199.

What makes this deal so especially fantastic, you may ask? Here are five (count ’em, five) reasons:

  1. This particular tablet has never been this cheap before at any retailer, Walmart or elsewhere.

  2. It’s now the same price as the 128GB model, which is currently enjoying a $100 discount itself.

  3. Walmart’s marked it with one of its “Black Friday Deal” flags, meaning this is the Black Friday price for this tablet; it won’t drop any lower.

  4. It’s in stock and ready to ship at Walmart — we were seeing delivery dates as soon as Oct. 22 at the time of writing. (While Amazon was running the same deal, its shipping was delayed by up to nine days when we last checked.)

  5. Any powerful “Pro” machine with a decent amount of storage is an absolute steal at under a grand. (For comparison’s sake, the new blinged-out MacBook Pros start at $2,000. Granted, they’re packing the latest and greatest Apple silicon, but that’s a hell of a lot to pay for a portable device.)

So, yeah. You simply love to see it.

Just as a quick recap, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is a May 2021 release topped off with a stunning new Liquid Retina XDR display featuring mini-LED technology. (The colors on its screen “are a lot deeper and more punchy” compared to the previous model from 2018, said Mashable tech reporter Brenda Stolyar — a big draw for creatives who need a photo- and video-editing machine.) Other highlights include an improved camera system with Center Stage, a digital zooming tool, and an M1 chip to round it all out with some decent speed.

FWIW, there’s a greater-than-zero chance that this tablet sells out at some point soon — not just because of Walmart’s amazing deal, but because that pesky global chip shortage is still very much a thing. Hit the link below to order one while you still can.
